Thrift Shop Donations

Our 12 thrift shops thrive on community support. Donations of usable and resalable items in excellent condition such as women’s and men’s clothing are essential to keep our doors open. We also welcome jewelry, accessories, shoes, housewares, books, and furniture.

A designer dress that sells for $75 in one of our stores provides three weeks worth of hot meals for a homeless HIV+ mother and her child. An armchair that raises $400 pays for two weeks of supportive housing for a client who badly needs a stable home.

All donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Bookstore Cafe Donations

MOVING? GOING DIGITAL? DONATE BOOKS, MUSIC, AND MOVIES
100% of our books, records, CDs, and DVDs are donated.

We accept:

• Books, CDs, DVDs, and LPs in saleable condition. This includes advanced reader’s copies (otherwise known as proofs or galleys) with forthcoming publication dates and textbooks.

We do not accept:

• Books with markings, heavy wear, water damage, missing pages or covers, mildew, or strong odors.
• VHS, audio cassettes, magazines (except for literary magazines), encyclopedias, or any dated material such as travel guides that are more than a year old.

DONATION HOURS
Donations can be brought into the bookstore 10AM-8PM weekdays and 10AM-4PM on weekends, except when we close for special events. It’s always smart to call the store and check, 212-334-3324.
