In 2024, we achieved a major milestone with the passage of the HIV Modernization Act, which mandates HIV testing as part of routine healthcare, enabling more New Yorkers to learn their status early and access timely treatment. This progress has the potential to reduce AIDS diagnoses significantly and improve health outcomes statewide. To fully realize the benefits of this legislation, New York State must fund the full implementation of the HIV Testing Modernization Act.
