Authorize Overdose Prevention Centers
Every overdose death is preventable. Overdose Prevention Centers are safe places that people can use their pre-obtained drugs under medical supervision, get connected to vital resources and services, and receive sterile supplies to reduce the spread of viral infections. OPCs are a nonjudgemental environment where folks can eat, bathe, and relax. New York must authorize Overdose Prevention Centers across the State, either through legislation (S399A/A338) or executive action, and follow the positive trend of thousands of lives already saved in NYC.
