Housing Works to Celebrate International Women’s Day with Media Mavens Event

New York, New York - In honor of International Women’s Day, New York City based non-profit Housing Works, has organized a sale comprised of donations from powerful women in media. The event, taking place at Housing Works’ Gramercy Thrift Shop from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday, March 8th, is inspired by a donation Tamron Hall made to Housing Works of her Today Show wardrobe.

Additional donors include Connie Chung, Amy Astley (Architectural Digest), Mary Calvi (CBS 2), Narmeen Choudhury (Pix 11), Sharon Crowley (Fox 5), Kristine Johnson (CBS 2), Jennifer Lahmers (Fox 5), Vanessa Murdock (CBS 2), Mary Murphy (Pix 11) and Audrey Puente (Fox 5).

Shoppers will be able to browse an assortment of clothing including a Givenchy dress, Calvin Klein Collection suits, Manolo Blahnik heels, a Helmut Lang coat, Alaia sandals, and an Isabel Marant dress.

All proceeds from the event will directly benefit Housing Works’ lifesaving services and advocacy efforts, including work that serves low-income cisgender and transgender women who are HIV positive, unstably housed, recently-incarcerated, recovering from drug addiction, or struggling with mental illness.

Drinks and sweet treats will be available compliments of the City Winery and Erin McKenna’s Bakery.
